The route to a successful retirement

Step 1
Foundations

Who are you?
What do you have?
What do you want?

Your retirement must be built upon solid foundations. The foundations are determined by who you are; what your obligations to others are; what you want to do in your retirement; and what assets you have. We help you to understand what your foundations are.

Step 2
Materials

How can you best make use of what’s available to you?

Having established your foundations, we explain how best to use the materials that are available to you, and how to avoid costly mistakes that are often made. You select only the content that is applicable to your retirement project.

Step 3
Regulations

What can you do?
What can’t you do?

There are regulations that need to be complied with in the case of your retirement. These include taxes, benefits and what you may have to pay for. Here we can help you identify how to make the regulations work for you, and to use them to your advantage.

If you are below the age of 53 then there is not going to be much in our content for you. Conversely, those over the age of 53 who have a financial advisor that looks after their financial planning are already paying for much of what this site’s content will tell them.

The structure of the site is designed for those approaching their retirement. However, because it covers the design of your retirement; the transition into retirement; and what could happen in your retirement; there should be something for most people over the age of 53.

We set the bar at age 53 because at that age you are getting close to when you can first access your pension savings. This is when you may first be thinking about whether to, when and how you should access your retirement savings. This website’s contents should help you answer these questions.

Then there are times when you begin to think about how you will reduce your working hours or stop work completely. At those times you will find the content invaluable. If you are approaching State Pension Age, or living off savings and investments in retirement, then you also should benefit from the content.
